About Pip

What is Pip?

A workspace for your business, with AI built in. Your notes, spreadsheets, slides and photos live in folders on your Mac, and Pip helps inside them: writing, tidying, working things out, making pictures. You stay in charge of every change.

How is it different from ChatGPT or Claude?

In most AI apps, everything happens in a chat, and what you make gets lost in old conversations. In Pip, your work comes first: it's saved in folders, you write in it yourself, and you ask Pip for help with the part you're on. There's still a chat when you just want to ask something.

I don't know what to use AI for. Is Pip for me?

Yes. Open a note, a spreadsheet or a photo, then open Pip, and Pip suggests a few things it could help with. Take one, or ignore them. You can also just have a play in the sample on the home page.

Can I bring in Word and Excel files?

Yes. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages and Keynote files open in Pip. The originals stay as they were.

Can my team use it?

Yes, with a copy each on their own Mac. There's no shared workspace yet.

Does Pip send emails for me?

No. Pip helps you write them. Sending stays with you.

Your AI and your work

Which AI can I use?

Pip picks a good AI for each job, with Claude for the bigger work, so you don't have to think about it. If you'd like a different one, you can choose it in any chat.

I already pay for Claude, or my own AI. Can I use it?

Yes, and then Pip is free. Sign in with your Claude plan, add an API key, or run a model on your Mac. What Pip does counts toward that plan's limits.

Is my work private?

Yes. Your files are saved on your Mac. On the Pip subscription, Pip's AI runs on servers in the EU and what you write isn't used to train AI. With your own AI, that provider's terms apply. The Privacy page has more.

Does Pip make things up?

Pip works from your notes and shows you which ones, so you can check. It's built to say when your notes don't have the answer. Like any AI, it can still get things wrong, so check anything that matters.

What does Pip remember?

Your prices, customers, projects and how you write, picked up from your notes. See it all in Settings, and correct or delete anything.

Can I get my work out?

Yes. It's in a folder on your Mac. Notes export to Word, tables to Excel and decks to PowerPoint.

Plans and your Mac

Is there a free trial?

Yes: 14 days with everything included. No card details needed.

What happens after the free trial?

Hayden will email you before it ends. Keep it for £18 a month, or £200 a year, or stop. Your work stays on your Mac either way.

What if I use up my credits?

Pip keeps helping on a lighter, faster AI, within the fair-use limits in the terms, until your 100 credits refresh next month. You're never charged extra.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Email hello@haydenslaughter.co.uk and Hayden will confirm by email. The subscription runs to the end of the period you've paid for, then stops. Your work stays on your Mac.

Can I change which AI Pip uses?

Yes, in any chat, or for everything in Settings.

Is there anything to add, like VAT?

No. The price you see is what you pay.

Do you offer concessions?

Yes: 30% off for students, disabled people and anyone out of work, so £12.60 a month. Email hello@haydenslaughter.co.uk and Hayden will set it up. No proof needed.

Which Macs does it run on?

Macs with macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon or Intel. There's no Windows or phone version yet.

Who makes Pip?

Hayden Slaughter, in Brighton. Write to hello@haydenslaughter.co.uk and Hayden will reply personally.
